Spring will soon arrive, and with it, the pest management industry will enter our busy season. Now is a good time to regroup, look forward, and solidify plans for the year—and NPMA has you covered.
As this issue ships, NPMA is looking forward to the 2023 Legislative Day event on March 22-24. If you haven’t already made plans, I hope you will consider attending this vitally important visit to our nation’s Capital. The Legislative Day event allows pest control operators from around the country the opportunity to advocate directly with elected leaders and give firsthand accounts of what our industry is facing—and it’s the first time since 2020 that we’ve been able to do so. There will also be speakers discussing the latest policy issues and giving important insight into industry challenges. I hope to see you there.
At Legislative Day, one of the topics that’s sure to be top-of-mind is the current workforce shortage, and along these lines, this issue of PestWorld focuses on developing a strong team, part of which is successful recruiting. This topic couldn’t be more timely. Companies across the country are struggling to fill positions, and the pest control industry is no exception. It is of vital importance that our industry ensures we are finding quality applicants and welcoming those new employees with open arms, creating engaging company cultures and solidifying the idea that our industry is the place to be. This will involve seeking out applicants in new and novel ways and using every available resource.
