How did you get started in the industry?

I started in pest control while serving in the U.S. Air Force as an entomology specialist. After my service, I transitioned to a civilian role and ultimately founded my own company, Aardvark, in 1994.

Pay your taxes.

What’s the worst piece of advice you’ve ever received?

"Trust me."

What are you most excited about these days?

Retirement and passing my business onto my daughter.

What’s one thing people don’t know about you?

I have a large collection of bobbleheads.

Nothing is forever.

Failing my first ACE exam by one point.

When’s the last time you changed your mind about something significant?

Every day when I think about retirement.

Saying no.

Raising three children alone.

My 15 grandchildren.

What is the weirdest way you’ve been injured?

Removing an old squirrel nest and a bumblebee chased me down to sting me on my eye lid.

Picking up an opossum by the tail.

Driving in traffic.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Ice cream.

Veterans Day.
