NPMA's Workforce Development Program Mid-Year Successes
In October 2020, the National Pest Management Association launched its Workforce Development Program, dedicated to building jobs in professional pest control. Since then, we’ve worked strategically in pursuit of two main goals:
- Raise awareness and increase pride in professional pest control as a viable and desirable industry with many job opportunities and career paths for today’s jobseeker.
- Drive jobseekers to apply for open positions at careers.PestControlJobs.com and help NPMA members to fill the jobs pipeline with strong candidates.
Now in our fourth year, we are continuing to work towards raising awareness and attracting jobseekers and:
- Redefining our primary target audiences to maximize recent partnerships with organizations that support student career preparation and transitions and providing career pathways for service members, military veterans and their families.
- Fine-tuning member outreach and support, designed to provide resources to NPMA members that will help them engage with these audiences
We are excited about the opportunities ahead of us, as we have just barely begun to scratch the surface of what is possible through our new partnerships, and we remain committed to delivering a compelling program that will ensure the future of the pest control industry remains bright.
The work we are doing to support the growth of the industry would not be possible without the guidance of a focused steering committee and the continued financial support of our Founders Club, Patrons Club, Gold and Silver Supplier level sponsors.
NPMA Workforce Program Goals
- Increase public and NPMA member awareness and drive qualified traffic to careers.PestControlJobs.com.
- Develop partnerships with established organizations that serve targeted audiences to promote careers and career development programs.
- Support NPMA members with their workforce development initiatives by developing recruitment and retention guides, training, and tools.
