NPMA Hosts EPA Rodent Tour
On April 15th, NPMA hosted a DC-based Rodent Tour in conjunction with the Association of Structural Pest Control Regulatory Officials (ASPCRO) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). During our event, NPMA staff and members presented on the negative impacts that EPA’s proposed mitigations on rodenticides would have on both the regulated community and the regulator community. Key topics of discussion included EPA’s proposed RUP classification, carcass search requirements, PPE requirements, and limitations on bait station placement. After NPMA presentations, attendees visited the National Gallery of Art and Gallaudet University to observe a demonstration of what rodent control looks like at institutions with heavy foot traffic and high pest pressures. These demonstrations offered EPA staff an opportunity to learn more about the current safe and effective use patterns of pest management professionals. Thank you to all NPMA members who presented and attended!
