Legislative Day Sets Record Numbers for Hill Visits
NPMA's 2025 Legislative Day, held March 9-11 in Washington, D.C., brought together industry professionals to advocate for issues critical to the pest management industry. The event saw record-breaking participation with approximately 235 members taking to Capitol Hill, an 18% increase from 2024.
Event Highlights
Monday Morning Session
The event kicked off on Monday with NPMA President Faye Golden welcoming attendees alongside WorkWave CEO Kevin Kemmerer, who recognized graduates of the Executive Leadership Program. The programming then began with Brad Harbison of PCT Magazine presenting the PCT's annual Technician of the Year Awards and sharing results of the 2025 PCT and NPMA Industry Survey, sponsored by BASF.
Monday Luncheon
The luncheon program began with NPMA Secretary, the Honorable Bob Dold, introducing Representative Glenn "GT" Thompson (R-PA-15), Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, who received the NPMA Legislator of the Year Award for his leadership on the 2025 Farm Bill. featured remarks from NPMA Chief Executive Officer Dominique Stumpf and included a commemorative video celebrating PestVets' 10th anniversary. Matt Spears from envu presented the 2025 Policy Person of the Year Award to NPMA past president Justin McCauley of McCauley Services, while envu's James Cooksey presented 2025 David Cooksey PestVet of the Year Award to Jacob Kulzer of Ecolab.
The luncheon keynote debate, moderated by NPMA's JD Darr and sponsored by envu, featured Eugene Robinson and Doug Heye, who provided insights on the current political landscape from both sides of the aisle.
Monday Afternoon Session
The afternoon general session, sponsored by Corteva AgriScience, featured a keynote address by Sarah Isgur, a political analyst and media commentator, who provided insightful analysis on the current political landscape and its implications for regulatory policy and industry advocacy.
Tuesday Morning Presentation
Control Solutions, Inc. sponsored the morning session featuring Jonathan Martin, Politics Bureau Chief and Senior Political Columnist for POLITICO. As one of the country's most trusted political reporters with deep connections to leaders in Washington D.C., Martin provided valuable insights on the current political landscape and its implications for policy development.
Capitol Hill Visits
The highlight of Legislative Day was the Tuesday Capitol Hill visits, where members advocated for pesticide preemption and other industry priorities. The 2025 event achieved impressive metrics:
- 183 scheduled meetings (22% increase from 2024)
- 22 member-level meetings with elected officials (47% increase from 2024)
- Approximately 235 members participating (18% increase from 2024)

Tuesday's luncheon, sponsored by MGK, included remarks by Senator Ben Ray Lujan (D-NM) and Representative Gabe Vasquez (D-NM-02).
