PPMA Deploys Nationwide Campaign for Bed Bug Awareness Week
The Professional Pest Management Alliance empowers consumers to be vigilant against bed bugs
FAIRFAX VA. — The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), which serves as the consumer marketing and public outreach arm of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), is leading the industry charge in observing Bed Bug Awareness Week, taking place June 2-8, 2024. Recognized by Chase’s Calendar of Events, this week is dedicated to informing consumers to stay alert against bed bugs, helping to ensure a safe and enjoyable summer season.
“Summer is peak season for bed bugs, especially with travel plans and major events like the Paris Olympics, which could be as problematic for bed bugs as Fashion Week was last year,” said Jim Fredericks, executive director of PPMA. “Our goal is to educate the public about these persistent pests and encourage our industry peers to promote the importance of prevention and professional intervention when infestations arise.”
PPMA is calling on all pest control companies to join this week-long awareness initiative by focusing their social media content on bed bugs and using the hashtag #BedBugAwarenessWeek all week long. To further promote the campaign, an exclusive Bed Bug Awareness Week toolkit is available for Mainframe subscribers to download on PPMAMainframe.org. The toolkit includes a customizable press release, suggested social media content, logos, high-resolution photography and video, infographics and more.
