NPMA Presents Industry Awards at PestWorld 2024
Best of the Best Recognized at NPMA’s Annual Event
Denver, CO – October 24, 2024 – The National Pest Management Association (NPMA) recognized industry leaders as part of their Thursday General Session at PestWorld 2024, being held in Denver, CO.
During its annual awards ceremony, several key awards were presented, including the ACE Professional Award (presented by the Entomological Society of America), Emerging Leaders Award, NPMA Gives Award, Committee of the Year Award, Chairperson of the Year Award, Women of Excellence Award, and the Pinnacle Award.
Kurt Treftz of Cascade Pest Control in Snohomish, WA, received the Entomological Society of America’s ACE Professional Award.
Anthony Grullon of NuBorn Pest Control in Mamaroneck, NY, was the recipient of the Emerging Leaders Award. This award recognizes rising stars, who have already made significant contributions to the Association and/or to the pest management profession and have demonstrated the potential for leadership and continuing service. The award is sponsored by Rentokil Terminix.
Abell Pest Control headquartered in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, was awarded the NPMA Gives Award. This award recognizes NPMA member companies that have demonstrated leadership through their dedication and contribution to the good of the community. This award is sponsored by WorkWave.
The Marketing to Membership Committee was awarded Committee of the Year, and Chris Gorecki of Rollins, chair of the Workforce Development Steering Committee, was the recipient of the Committee Chair of the Year Award.
Karen Furgiuele of Gardex Chemicals, Ltd. in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, received the Women of Excellence Award. This award recognizes female pest management professionals who demonstrate outstanding leadership and have made notable contributions to the development and growth of other women in the industry. This award is sponsored by Target Specialty Products.
The Pinnacle Award was presented to Wayne Golden, an industry icon who spent his career in pest control, including his time at Rollins. The Pinnacle Award, NPMA's most coveted and prestigious accolade, honors an individual who has contributed not only to the success of the association but to the industry as a whole over a lifetime or career.
