NPMA’s 2020-21 year was unlike any other. The global COVID-19 pandemic abruptly changed daily life for the pest management industry. From an Association perspective, this year looked much different than any other in our 88-year history as an organization. We had to quickly shift our way of doing business, hosting PestWorld and many of our other national, regional and state conferences virtually. Fortunately, NPMA Members and the structural pest management industry remained resilient. Pest Control Companies of all shapes and sizes across our country, and around the globe, banded together to help each other, share information and collectively work together to advance the good work of our industry in a time of crisis. Additionally, not only did NPMA members support the Association through participating in virtual events, but the number of companies involved in the Association grew at record levels over the past year. We sincerely thank you for your support, your leadership and your membership this year and we look forward to continuing the momentum and positive image this industry has worked hard to earn before, during and post pandemic.
We confronted the reality of the situation head-on. We had to act quickly and decisively, not only to keep the Association on track, but, more importantly, to keep our industry whole. Rather than slow down, we accelerated – regarding our events, our initiatives, and our operations. We made difficult decisions early, pivoted, and kept moving forward.
While the pandemic has endured longer than anticipated, it will not be permanent. And though we think of NPMA as an evolving organization, COVID-19 emphasized why we should always embrace innovation and change, and why we must continually be forward-thinking. As we reflect on the past year, we are proud of all that was accomplished, how we served our members and brought them added value during a difficult time. Because of this, our community remains as solid as ever. Together we are stronger, and with your continued support, NPMA will stay ahead of the curve and continue to execute on your behalf.
