Award Amount: One (1) award per year totaling $1,000
Tim and Kathy Pollard have been fortunate to be a part of the pest control industry for more than 30 years. It is a wonderful industry that has blessed their family. This scholarship is one way of giving back to this amazing industry while also supporting their beloved Auburn University.
Tim and Kathy are proud to establish and support this $25,000 scholarship program that will help to continue the mission of the pest control industry and assist those looking to build a career. This scholarship will be awarded annually and reflects their commitment to the industry. This scholarship is designed to be complimentary to existing scholarships within Arrow Exterminators and the industry.
Scholarship Criteria
- Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate college students majoring in the College of Agriculture at Auburn University.
- Priority given to those whose families serve in the pest control industry.
- Must have completed at least two semesters of study with at least one year remaining for degree completion.
- Full-time student in good academic standing (3.0 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale)
Application Submission Requirements
- Application form completed in full and received by due date each year.
- Resume or Curriculum Vitae
- Current School transcript
- One page (minimum) essay describing the applicant’s professional goals and aspirations and how he/she plans to use their studies to contribute to their field.
- Letter of recommendation from student’s faculty advisor.
- Other supporting documents for consideration.
Provision
The recipient must commit to writing a letter of appreciation outlining how the scholarship has helped them in their academic endeavors. These letters will be displayed at industry events.

2024-2025 Recipient Temitope Folorunso Auburn University Temitope is a third-year Ph.D. student in the Conservation and Genomics Laboratory at the College of Forestry, Wildlife, and Environment, Auburn University. Her expertise spans molecular biology, genomics, and bioinformatics, with a strong foundation in high-throughput techniques. Her previous research involved developing a novel gene-targeting approach for pest management, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional pesticides. Currently, her work integrates genomics techniques and pathology to advance forest disease and pest management. At the core of her academic and professional pursuits is a deep commitment to sustainability in agriculture and forestry. |
