PPMA Leads Industry Effort to Educate Homeowners on Termite Risks During Termite Awareness Week
The Professional Pest Management Alliance urges homeowners to learn the warning signs of termites and partner with professionals to prevent costly damage
FAIRFAX, VA (February 17, 2025) – Pest control companies are gearing up for the busy spring season and there is one particular pest the pros will definitely be receiving calls about – termites. As these silent invaders prepare to swarm structures across the country, the Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the public outreach arm of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), is rallying the pest control industry to take action. Termite Awareness Week, recognized by Chase’s Calendar of Events, will take place March 2-8, 2025, and serves as a powerful opportunity to educate homeowners about the hidden threat of termites and the critical role of pest control professionals in preventing infestations.
“With more homeowners watching their household expenses, it’s critical that we reinforce the value of professional pest control – especially when it comes to termites, which can cause thousands of dollars in damage if left unchecked,” said PPMA Executive Director Jim Fredericks. “Termite Awareness Week is a prime opportunity for pest control companies to educate consumers on the hidden risks of termites and the long-term savings of proactive protection.”
PPMA is encouraging companies to amplify their outreach efforts during Termite Awareness Week by:
- Leaning into termite-themed content during the week and using #TermiteAwarenessWeek on social media to engage homeowners and share expert advice.
- Resharing content from @PestWorld on Facebook, TikTok, X, Pinterest, and YouTube and @PestWorldOfficial on Instagram.
- Utilizing the exclusive Termite Awareness Week marketing toolkit available to Mainframe subscribers on PPMAMainframe.org. This toolkit is packed with a customizable press release, social media posts, infographics, high-resolution images, video assets and more to help companies maximize their impact.
By participating in Termite Awareness Week and other awareness initiatives, pest control professionals not only help protect homes, businesses and public health but also strengthen the industry as the go-to solution for pest problems. They serve as an opportunity to showcase our expertise, build trust with property owners and increase the demand for professional pest control services.
