PEST MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS GO "BACK TO SCHOOL"
Consumer Education Initiative Includes School Presentations

As part of the National Pest Management Association's (NPMA) mission to educate Americans on pests and the diseases they may pose, NPMA is launching a community education initiative, "Pest Control Goes Back to School."

As part of the initiative, pest control professionals will visit local elementary schools to discuss pests, pest behavior and ecology, and the importance of protecting your home and health from pest-related threats. Professionals will also be able to demonstrate a new educational website, www.pestworldforkids.org.

"Pest control has significantly improved the quality of life for all ages," said National Pest Management Association Director of Public Affairs Cindy Mannes. "We have developed an interactive educational resource for children to explore the world of pests and learn about the important ways pest control continues to impacts their lives," she continued. "On behalf of the association, we're proud that our members are providing such valuable education in the local community."

The National Pest Management Association, a non-profit organization with more than 5,000 members, was established in 1933 to support the pest management industry's commitment to the protection of public health, food and property, reflected both in the continuing education of the pest control professional and the dissemination of timely information to homeowners and businesses.

For more information, or to find a pest control professional in your area participating in the initiative, visit www.pestworld.org, or contact Cindy Mannes at (703) 573-8330.
