The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA) was founded in 1997 to grow, promote, protect and defend the pest management industry. PPMA is a sister organization of the National Pest Management Association, serving as the consumer marketing arm of NPMA. It is managed by its own board of directors comprised of the industry’s top leaders and has its own operating budget.
As an investor-driving organization, PPMA has been successfully marketing the value of professional pest control to consumers for more than 25 years, resulting in positive exposure for our industry and the growth of our residential and commercial markets.
We ARE making an impact on the attitudes, opinions, and buying decisions of residential and commercial customers. We have increased awareness of the value of professional pest control services and protected our reputation through ongoing national and local media outreach, innovative advertising campaigns, social media engagement, public service announcements and more. It’s work that is only possible because of the generous contributions of hundreds of investor companies who understand that their participation is making a huge impact on the industry.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Each year, I’m honored to share the annual report for the Professional Pest Management Alliance with you. Looking through these pages, I feel a huge sense of pride in our industry and immense gratitude for all who support this powerful work. It’s through the dedication of pest control companies, suppliers and friends that PPMA’s achievements are made possible.
As the consumer marketing arm of the National Pest Management Association, PPMA is the collective voice of our industry. Over the past 26 years, PPMA has tirelessly promoted the value of professional pest control services, while raising awareness of the risks that pests pose to families, businesses and homeowners across the country. Why? Because we all win when there’s a clear, credible voice telling our story to consumers.
Cutting through the noise to reach your potential customers requires constant creativity. From developing educational video series for PestWorld.org and creating annual public service announcements to launching scroll-stopping ads on TikTok and garnering extensive news media coverage, PPMA takes advantage of every channel to get the industry’s message out to as many people as we can. All of these consumer engagement efforts are for the benefit of your businesses.
Now, I’m excited to see how we can amplify our message even more. With new leadership at PPMA and over a quarter century’s worth of progress to build upon, I know we have a strong team and foundation for growth. I also believe what my dad said to me 50 years ago: “There are always gonna be pests, and there are always gonna be people who don’t want to live with them.” That’s why the sky is the limit when it comes to expanding the pest control industry.
So, how do we get to the next level? The “we” in that question is the most critical part. Telling our story to more people, more often, will require bigger support and more teamwork across the entire industry. PPMA has already accomplished so much – now just imagine what we can do when we’re all contributing and engaged on the same team.
PPMA’s work is funded 100% through voluntary donations from generous pest control firms, members of the supplier community and friends of our industry. These supporters see the big picture and understand the value of banding together for greater impact.
From personal experience as the owner of a family-owned pest control company, I can say that contributing to PPMA is not only an investment in the industry as a whole – it’s an investment in your own business. When we help consumers understand why it’s essential to hire a pest control professional, companies both big and small reap the returns.
Before you read on to learn about our exciting work over the past year, I’d like to express my deepest appreciation for our Board of Directors, our Guardian investors who give 1/10th of 1% of their annual revenues to PPMA programming, and our Contributors and Supplier community who continue to believe in our shared mission. Each and every one of you is making a difference. And if you’re not yet a supporter, I hope you’ll consider joining our team so we can take our efforts to the next level.
